LiquaFic is an open source paginated ebook layout engine capable of displaying content in a single pane or dual panes. It can paginate an average length ebook in under 5 seconds*.
LiquaFic was created with the philosophy "Keep It Simple".
Just how "media rich" does an ebook have to be before it crosses the line into the current state of bloat we are all accustomed to with web pages and browsers? Books are for active enjoyment, not passive entertainment.
LiquaFic is designed for one purpose only - to render ebook content that closely resembles the layout of paper books. While it will support some media elements, it is not suitable for "multimedia-rich" publications or for demanding presentational & multi-column layouts such as most magazines. For those, a browser-based reader such as the OpenBerg Project is more appropriate.
To that end, LiquaFic only supports a subset of OEBPS 1.2 and XHTML 2.0. It uses what it needs to get the job done and nothing more. Developers can modify and extend the layout engine to support additional tags and standards if needed. Optional support modules for OEBPS read/write/conversion, and customer-friendly (!) DRM will be available.

ConvertLIT GUI is a graphical user interface for the wonderful command-line tool convertlit. With ConvertLIT, you can extract files from Microsoft proprietary ebook format .lit (see Microsoft Reader for more information), you can also downconvert (ie remove DRM protection) and inscribe lit files.
Why did I create ConvertLIT GUI? While I have no problems with using command-line tools, there are a lot of computer illiterate people to whom using them is comparable with hacking into CIA. Also, it allowed me to add some user-friendly things, like batch processing and automatic output folder creation.
For a first thing, please note that I am not the author of convertlit. All credit for it goes to Dan Jackson and an anonymous programmer who made the first version of convertlit.
Install package of ConvertLIT GUI includes the command-line convertlit v1.8.
Remember to run ReaderKeyRecoveryTool (you can access it via File menu) if you are working with encrypted titles.

rtf2html can be run as a normal GUI program or from commandline (latter is useful if you want to use rtf2html in script or program).
